I sent in my self assesment over a week ago, do we receive any
acknowledgment that they have received it?

I have no idea whether the Revenue issue acknowledgements these days, as we haven't submitted a paper return for years. If you submitted online you have had an email to confirm.

If you didn't calculate the tax the Revenue will send you a tax calculation. However, I'd expect the timescale to be calculated in months rather than weeks.

The thought of the Revenue replying to anything in a week is quite amusing.

I have around 500 clients and only find that a handful actually get the old SA302 (tax calculation).

As it is now (and has been for several years) called "Self Assessment" HMRC place the onus on you or your accountant to calculate the tax due. It is then down to you to pay this when is required.

...not sure why those handful of clients still get the SA302. Must say I did prefer it when all clients got those!

They must still provide SA302's as mortgage companies still seem to insist on sole traders/partnerships providing copies.

I have been told that HMRC provide them (eventually) if you write and ask for them.

as others I have been filing online for last 7 years so not come across these for a long time.
