Please don't say "hello"...

Say "web marketer" or "nanny service" or "new online gaming product" or whatever it is you do.

As a newbie wanting to be friendly and approachable, you will be one of hundreds who introduces yourself with "hello". If you put your service in your header instead, you would be hitting a target market of people who were interested in your business, right from the first word!

Every day I hit the "new posts" button and skim through the pages of posts, reading only those that interest me in the 'pop ups'. So many of you don't get read, because you don't catch my eye. I'm wondering how many more people ignore you for the same reason?

Just a little hint for the new folk... well, actually... it's a little hint to save me from reading 100 hellos again.

Welcome to all new folk, look forward to reading all your interesting new headers! ;)

I should add (as Simon has worked out), if your signature is written properly, people will know what you do, so 'hello' is enough :)
Which is why I said 'hello'

Yup, quite true. And people will know to open your introduction and read your hello if you put something interesting enough into the header or title of your post to encourage them to do so. :p
