    At the risk of sounding like a complete idiot, how does google pick up pages and posts? has been listed with them a while ago, and I searched for something - a gig with a quite unknown artist, and my site name, and still nothing came up for my site - my Facebook fan page did though! :(

    I'm probably doing something very wrong :(

    When you have done that install these wordpress plug-ins

    Dagon Design Sitemap Generator

    Google XML Sitemaps

    Create a new page called /sitemap/ and the first plug-in will generate a regular site map

    once you activate the second plug-in it will generate a new xml site map every time you update the site and ping google - after a while you'll find that any new pages get indexed within a few minutes (provided you update fairly often).

    Wordpress is one of the best on-site SEO optimized CMSs out there. If you're doing everything properly, you shouldn't need a sitemap at all.

    Get some backlinks and your pages will start showing up in search results ;)

    Some basic Wordpress SEO would include installing "All in one SEO pack" Wordpress plugin, and making sure your permalink structure is SEO friendly one.
