installing a script on hosting provider - help needed please

    hi everyone , i want to build a website with a shopping cart , im new to installing scripts, on my hosting package it has free scripts , joomla , zencart etc , do i literally click install script and its all done? or can i combine somthing like joomla and zencart together? basically my website will involve selling PDF files (BUT NOT DOWNLOADABLE) i will be sending the manually ( i have my reasons). i would like to accept payment with paypal ideally. can anyone help? or is there a way to simply build a normal html site ( which i can do quite good) and just add paypal buttons?

    depends on how many you want to sell, its its say 20 or less, than making the custom html pages

    any more then its better to build a shopping cart, and oscommerce does what you need, it can be used to sell downloadable content

    Integration between Joomla and ZenCart is not a trivial task, to say the least. Overall, it would be better for you to use a single, solid system. Are you more oriented on product catalog or CMS/information pages?

    Yes PHP hosting is normally cheaper but if you already have a host and they offer ASP or PHP on the same server - which many do - I would go for ASP. Basically, Windows Server=ASP; Other Server=PHP.

    OK, perhaps I made a bit of a sweeping statement - but, in my experience I have had problems with ChilliSoft ASP on a Unix server. Also, althought PHP runs fine on my server, I have also had some hosts with wierd set-ups of PHP on Windows servers.:(
