How To Raise My Conversion Rate

I'm looking for some interesting and new ways to raise the conversion rate on my e-commerce site. I currently have around 0.5% conversion but i'm not sure whether this is due to only having a limited amount of products or some other element im missing.

Any suggestions on what you've used or seen being used to try and up my conversions rate?

It is hard to say why you have a low conversion rate or if it actually is a low conversion rate without knowing your URL.

As it could be down to the way your website is laid out. For example, too many clicks to view products, bad navigation, bad product images, lack of something exciting to draw visitors in and convert them.

And then there is price, delivery charges, delivery time, time taken from purchase to recieved time, shopping cart....

Thanks wood1e2, i definitely think i could improve pictures but i get everything dropshipped at the moment so images are hard to find and i cant take them myself or get them professionally done.

Delivery times cant really be guaranteed either due to the same problem but i cant find a way past the problem so i'll have to work on other areas i think.

Unless you are selling some incredible rare product, you must be able to get hold of the manufactuers product imagery? Although you might want to check with them first.

There is nothing wrong with droppshipping, but you might find you are sprinting just to stand still. Which means you will never incease your conversion rate.

If delivery times are not up to speed then find another supplier. EVen though you may not be putting the levels of purcasing through them, in this market they will need all the business they can get.

It may be a case that you will have to spend some money, and invest in a more appealing website and better lines of delivery.

Ha ha, im not sure if that's a good thing or not paretowasright? I just enjoy learning and getting everything as good as it can be, if i had the knowledge of everyone in this forum im pretty sure i'd be retired on a beach somwhere by now.

I think im going quite well so far with the help of everyone on here, and hopefully i can help someone else one day. But until then im happy picking your brains

Is your traffic targeted? If the traffis is not right you wont be able to do much to get them to buy

Simple answer: Meet the needs of your visitors.

Complex answer: Look at your traffic sources and consider their expectations, deliver the content that will encourage stickiness, sperate funnel pages and converting pages, remove the barriers to conversion, create trust and above all make them feel welcome. do not use the dropshippers stock images and descriptions - make your own. Experiment with layouts, colours, headers, fonts, navigation, footers. Look at your checkout process, the T&C, shipping special offers, newsletters. Do you follow up each sale with an email, are you getting customer feedback?

Try reading Call to Action, it's all about conversion rates for websites and e-commerce. I found it very useful myself.
