On one of my PC's we have no sound - is their an easy way for a very non-technical person like me to fix this? :)

Have you ever had sound?
Are the speakers plugged in?

I dont think this particular PC has ever been used with any sound on.

It doesnt have any speakers but the monitor has built in speakers.

It may be that it has no sound card but I dont know the idiots way to check:redface:

you most probably don't have any audio drivers installed on your machines if all the hardware is plugged in.

Your audio drivers should of come on a cd with your PC , If they are missing you can get them from the manufacturers websites.

Sometimes speakers attached to monitors require plugging in seperately on the back of the computer. Look at the back of the monitor, or on the monitor cable itself, as sometimes it will have another little jack to plug in for sound.

1) Check you have these bad-boys on the back of your computer:

2) Check there's a cable comin' oot the green yin.

3) Check that cable goes somewhere useful (like yer speakers!)

4) Check you have this wee guy in your tray:
