Hi guys, does anyone have any reccomendation for a fil edit software package? It it not for work, more for pleasure. For all of those who have kids and have endless bits and pieces of footage I wanted to get arty with and bore the pants of family and friends. I just want to buy something to bung on my laptop and fiddle about with.

Adobe Premiere is quite highly rated

I'd also recommend Premiere

Ulead's Video Studio is another popular one

They aren't cheap though, so I'd recommend downloading trial versions and trying them out.

Of course, there's always VirtualDub, which is licensed under GNU GPL and seems to have good, though unoficial support forums
