    Just thought I should join the list of people introducing themselves.

    As a bit of background I currently work as a strategic project manager for the insurance division of a multinational bank.

    Back in my university days I used to do some webdevelopment (asp/sql) and have recently become interested in starting up a small website to run as a hobby - would like it if it could pay for itself but I am not looking to make my millions with it. Currently I am searching for inspiration on ideas for a topic.

    Any ways, I hope to be able to bring my experience of a massive range of business aspects to help others on the forum.

    DuaneJackson, many thanks for the offer however the 'business' will not being doing asp/sql development for others - I realised a long time ago that whilst I could sell my services in doing this I was by no means good enough to truly call myself a web developer.

    I dont have the time to dedicate to what ever my site will be to offer development services to others as I have no interest in leaving my current employers to become self employed (at present). What I do want to do is reuse my skills again to build some form of site for myself which would through advertisement or such generate enough monies to pay for the hosting/ domain names.

    Now just need an idea on what to actually do a site on (needs to have function/interactive/dynamic aspect to sate my need for ASP/SQL but self maintaining so I dont need to spend hours answering emails or dealing with stock or daily news updates etc)
