Recommend email host? Had dreadful experience with Register.com

I haven't set up a domain or email account before so I went to Register.com who I had read are a big company. Essentially I feel tricked and that the website are shysters of the type I remember from the dim and distant internet past. They auto filled my email name and so i got the wrong one. They informed me it wasnt possible to change it but I could cancel it and sign up again for more money. There customer service involves giving people such a run around that they pay the extra. I'm not playing that game and they can keep the $50 I paid. I could probably recover the domain name but life is too short so I'm not going to.

Anyway! Can you suggest a company that will simply supply several business email addresses without fuss or great expense or advertising?

Thanks in advance.

Hi

Hotmail can remain free, because of the level of advertising and the support given.

Do you already have a domain name you wish to use for the email addresses or would you like one to be included?

Many Thanks

Well I have a company name, but the .com and .co.uk and other usual suffixes are already taken for that name. So I have a domain with register.com which adds "-ltd". Transfering the domain out to say easily.co.uk would cost more than simply getting another domain! So I will just think up another similar domain name and be more careful in choosing the email account names. My company is a start up so I just need a couple of email addresses which aren't hotmail to look more professional. I will change the company name to something else completely at some point in the future.

Regards.Ant.
