Hi All,

I have recently launched a new website selling prescription glasses and wondered if anyone could provide some advice regarding how best to influence google listings?

I got burned using Lavora Marketing and they were to worse comapny I have ever been in contact with.
I am also using adwords but can't afford £1000's per day.

Also I would appreciate email lists for prospective customers!!

I understand this all takes hard work but am sure you professional have a FEW tips.:)

The first step will be to make your site visible with some basic optimisation techniques. Friendly filenames etc.
Also create a site map XML file and submit it to Google.
Content will always be king in the long run so lots of descriptive text on your pages will help you no end.

I hope this helps

I am pretty much internet illiterate myself I'm afraid - however I have worked with a guy who works wonders on SEO (and other internet things I do not understand..) Prices are reasonable. Genuinely appears to get results.

If you're still looking / interested drop me a PM and I'll look out his details for you.

Regards

Robbie

This is a very big topic called SEO.

You can actually! If you make more in profit. PPC is well worth doing if you track your conversion well and optimise it.

We have just written a PDF on the topic you could download it here.

Any feedback on the PDf would be greatfully recieved.

Try and get your site links on as many other sites as possible, google bots need a clear site map to run through your site and this is set up in the headers. Check out the google webmasters page its easy to find. they give you plenty of ideas there

Might be worth investigating the latest offering from Business Link's "Train to Gain" Programme. They are offering Grants to help you access training to assist (amongst other things) in developing your marketing skills.

We offer a Mentoring programme (click here for details) which is accessible under this grant which would definitely help you, but you can use the grant to access training & development from any approved supplier. you will find further details of the Grant scheme on the Business link website (This link is to the East midlands Business link, but the Grant should be available nationwide)
