An Amazing Domain Name!!!

Hi guys im new to this, but i would like some advice on domain names, I have been looking and most of them have gone (typical) but i have found this places called sedo where i could buy already taken domains.

The annoying thing is I have been asked to get a domain from there as we have a private buyer, and we offered 38k but they refused. does anyone know how to get around this?

or does anyone here own the domain UB4.biz?

£38,000 sorry but i don't get that..unless your Coca Cola why would you want to spend that much on a domain name...go pick another web address for your business or take a year off and party like its 1889.

i take it someone has asked you to buy the domain for them? as you say private buyer??

some people use Sedo to 'Park' the domain name and flag it up if anyone wants it..problem is that the domain probably cost them £9.99 when they started and they will want 10 times more for you to take it off their hands.

Then choose another name. Make something up, as long as it is memorable then it really doesn't matter what it is.

£38,000 is just barking especially as the domain name alone isn't going to get you anywhere.

cheers, i know its alot but i think they are just not wanting to sell to me, frustrating as we have been contacted so many times about this domain name and i know its stupid money but i guess there are always people out there that want them!!

back to the drawing board!! if anyone needs a domain name privately bought let me know!!

£38K is nothing to spend on a domain if it's really worth it, e.g. a three letter .com which are as rare as chickens teeth.

These are the top selling domains for 2008 so it proves people pay for what they think it's worth to them:

none of this short fancy domain wording.

The highest fee paid for a .co.uk domain was last year:

- Cruise website pays record $1m for domain name (Times Online)

nora batty!! most I have been able to buy one and sell one for is 46K, lot of money but now its been branded so defiantly worth the pain!!

I think, now i have lost the client, they wanted a short brand name:

you before business, hence the UB4.Biz!!!

The only value in these types of domain is for brand recognition.

Not to get top of google e.t.c.

So I would guess its car number plate traders that deal.

People have no need to remember URL's in this day and age only company names.

Its far easier to SEO a good generic keyword domain than a bog standard new reg.
