Fastway Couriers prepaid tickets

I have just checked it out with the local manager and unfortunatly the answer is no Im afraid
Reason being the local franshisee has already been paid by you ...

Not a good system if you ask me as it does discriminate a number of business that are on the move alot

I think they're also not valid if the local franchise changes hands. One to watch during the current economic climate.

Hi,

The tickets are sold by the courier driver to you so it's unlikely they'll be accepted anywhere else even within the same region as it would mean another driver working for free. If it's the exact same area your driver covered you may be able to shift them but I think it would be at the driver's discretion

Hello I see that Farceway are still robbing people, this i am sure is a weekly occurrence, I still have very unhappy, distressful memories of this so called courier business. Like you I lost all they have no scruples! Sorry to my family for me not seeing this one coming and for putting up with all the stress caused by FARCEWAY!

I fully understand your frustration .Fastsways do con people into their organisastion.

Running a fastways set up on its own spells ruination !!

The best one I know is the Yeovil Depot .The fastways work is about 20% of their total work .They are a courier company that do everything but also own the fastways area .
They have one person in charge of sales she sells the fastways work along with their other services .

Its like anything Fastways are guilty of taking on new people that have never been in business before .Worst of all I feel to run one of these fastway things you need other contacts and more importantly a good understanding of the industry .

I do feel for those people that are talked into it and put their house on the line

We have been using Fastways (Merseyside) for about 12 months and on the whole have been reasonably satisfied. I agree with JH that some of the Franchises seem to be not wholly committed to their Franchise and we have had instances where parcels have been left in certain depots for days.

On the up side, they are relatively inexpensive, collect from us every day even though we send only 1 to 5 parcels per day. Their out of franchise area deliveries have also improved since they switched to Parcelforce.

On the down side, their next day delivery seems to be met about 60% of the time - but in fairness this is cushioned by their same day collection.

My advice to anyone contemplating using Fastways is:

1. Use them for deliveries to franchised areas
2. Try and identify which franchises are slow in processing parcels
3. Only buy the minimum amount of labels ata ny one time - but do take advantage of their reduced rates when sending over a certain no of parcels per month
4. Use their Satchels for parcels up to 5Kg
5. Form a rapport with your local franchisee - there is inside knowledge there. And it is his investment that is on-the-line.


By the way, I believe that they are going to introduce a country-wide satchel in the next week or two.

I am currently using fastway labels from another area with no problem. They are all the same, only the tracking numbers may be a giveway of where they were purchased, if they keep track of these, which given the way they run things I doubt they do. A friend of mine was so p'eed off with them in his area, he gave me his tickets. I am only using them for non urgent deliveries, as we can sometimes wait 3 days for a collection, but no-one has commented and the parcels have all been delivered. I think if you ask a depot, they will of course say no, but if you don't make them aware of the situation, I doubt they would notice.
