hi all new to business need a little help pls take a look

hi all we are currently in development stages of a web based adult sales site we offer varied ranges of products and have paid lots for our site so it is catered perfectly to our needs. we are also running a adult contact site alongside our sales to try and take business from major players although we are new to business we being husband and wife team are not new to our field of venture
we are basically looking for any advice that ppl may have on how to approach financial institutions for rasing some capital as this line of business is a grey area to the financers! and we have nearly exhausted our personal finances
also we are a limited company we have been in planning for 12 months sorting our suppliers and as we get closer to going live we could do with advice on which is best accounting software to use
its been a lot just sorting site and suppliers as we also have a permanent job working weekend nights it is a pain but is also a stable income and does allow all week of freedom to nurture our business
any advice would be most appreciated guys ta

That name is familiar

Wasn't there a business of a similar or same name in Kidderminster.
It just seems rather familiar that I'm sure I read about it.

I would be glad to help if you still need it in a couple of weeks as I'm off on Hols tonight.

I'm sure other people on the forums should be able to give you plenty of help on most aspects of your business.

With regards to financing, I should imagine that the financial institutions couldn't give a monkeys what the business is as long as you can convince them that you'll get good revenue and can pay off your loans/finance.

I agree with Mark, the banks are only interested in the bottom line.

However, I do have somewhere in the back of my head some statement made a few years back by a major high street bank about ethics and the adult trade... Maybe I imagined it, because I can't actually envisage a high street bank having morals and ethics beyond the bottom line...

Hello

If your main customers are going to be businesses then a good option is Factoring/Invoice Discounting. Would definately help with cash flow. If you are interested in finding out more about factoring please let me have your email address and ill forward you some information.

Alternatively (depending on the types of customers) you could enquire about stock finance - i can put you in touch with someone if needed.

If main customers are going to be individuals then it would be best to go to a bank for finance options.

Accounting package - we use quick books - it's very good.

You may have trouble getting your money if you can't demonstrate that you can make money so get that site launched and start making money asap. Having a job to keep body and soul together is not a bad idea at the start.

The adult market is very busy but apparantly very lucrative. I have a couple of friends who run them successfully - one is even for sale.

I don't know how your site is positioned but the whole 'Sex and the City' ladies who aren't afraid to experiment market seems hot hot hot.

But with any online business it rarely happens over night.

I'd love to see your site. Your statement that you
" have paid lots for our site so it is catered perfectly to our needs," fills me with fear.

Your needs may not be those of your potential customers and paying a lot for a site doesn't mean squat if they can't find what they are looking for.

Go on tell us you site address :twisted:

What I have found is that you can obtain finance for just about anything, providing that you have a sound business plan (or executive summary)

Although, the members above are right in that Banks will lend providing they see the potential of the idea -in monetary terms, obviously!!

They also need to trust you with their investment.

Send a PM if you need help with the executive summary or need a finance introducer who deals with internet business finance.

we would both like to say thank you very much for the advice so far we have now guained a friend who is a accountant and is fully willing to help us learn line 50 which is one obstacle over !!
we will give you all the site addy when it is further in devolpment stages its still pretty early daze
and as regards the site it is two individual sites that will work hand in hand with one another this is what we have been designing and putting together for over 12 months we are activley involved in swinging and fetish scene and have been for two and a half years and through experience and friends we feel we are aware of current market requirments and how to compete and better our compatition any more advice would be appreciated any comments anybody may have to help make a sucsess of hazy daze
