Nothing special.

Lets say each job takes, on average, about 10 minutes (by the examples on her site many will take more than 10 minutes). On this basis, to make £1,000,000, she would have to work for 19 years.

That's about £50,000 taking into account a small holiday, and it doesn't even include business expenses such as advertising to find 800,000+ clients...

Take what words back? You're right, it won't work :p

Actually, silly me, I didn't even take into account working hours and sleep!

So as she has two kids, lets push for a full working day of 8 hours. That's non-stop tasks for 8 hours a day if we assume they're all 10 minutes. Of course, many people will offer her more than £1 but many tasks will take longer than 10 minutes, so this is just a rough idea.

At £1 for every task which takes 10 minutes each on average...
Working 8 solid hours everyday...
Working 6 days a week (we'll give her Sunday off)...
Working every week for every year (which is doubtful)...
To make her million she would have to only work for...

66 years!

That's about £15,000 a year before tax and any other business expenses.

She would be better off going on the dole.

From what I can see she started on 8 May and so far has made .............................. £215!!!

A little way to go

Geoff

I gather she's already cleared a thousand, so she's obviously pushed for time and can't update her site. I suspect (if successful) that will be the big barrier, finding the time to take on all the jobs she accepts. Having said that (and I must admit to having given her this advice in an email I sent to her) there are plans to have an "affiliates" page, so she can earn a bit from advertising.

So yes, a long way to go, but you have to admire the "get-up and go spirit".

Well, IMHO, this lady deserves kudos for getting off her ass and working towards a dream. In her explanation, she says how she often does favours for friends and family, and now she's getting paid for it.

If she works out really well with it, she could always contract out to other working moms who want to make a bit on the side and take a cut. There are lots of ways to increase "time available" - consider lawyers' billing hours for example! :D

I think it's great and I wish her lots of work!

It was actually her site that brought me here, she did some designing for me for another project, I offered her what I was willing to pay and thought they were great :D

I do think it will be crazy hard to make the money, but as has been said before she is willing to work hard for what she wants, so good for her!

I really like the concept & I think it does take a leaf out of milliondollarhomepage concept.

I think she'll do it because it'll be a great media story - and we all love a good story. All she needs is one showing on a prime-time news slot & the jobs will come rolling in.

the only problem is time - unlike million dollar homepage she has to dedicate her time & resources which are finite. So unless she can enlist some help it will take a long time to finish the task.

Also i love the website and the way she has put herself forward. Trust me if she talks to the right people i'm sure she'd find a few willing to pay her a respectable sum for various tasks - people buy from people & I think many people will like her.

Good luck to her.

She's cleared £4000 profit so far now - not bad for any second income really.

Anyone following her progress on her press page, on twitter or facebook will also have seen that she has now been on the radio, done several newspaper interviews, has alrerady been filmed by ITV and now has new TV stuff lined up for next year!
