Because apparantly Top Hat and I both are. Who's Who of Britain's Business Elite that is. We are in the top 1% thereof.

It would only cost £59 for a copy to see our names in print. Hmmmm, do I smell something small and squeaky with a long leathery tail?

Anyhoo, anyone else in this dubious publication?

Do you suspect that the joke, this time, is on you?

We get bombarded with notices like this all the time, although more of them are about our children being in the top tier of students. Parents are so tempted to spend money on a book that lists their child - and thousands of others who coughed up the money - as a top student. Of course, such books mean nothing and simply collect dust on a shelf somewhere.

Despite all this, congrats on being elite. :)

My name is printed on a t-shirt as along with 3000 other plonkers from 2005.

I also got my name in the paper once, as I attended school which made me elite for Manchester standards!

One day my name will on the front of a bus though "Joydivision's guide to Privisation of Greater Manchester buses - Thacter to failure" I might even sell a copy.

I've spent a happy 5 mins updating my details in Who's Who.

Tophat made me wonder whether it's a good idea to be listed in this book even if it is only vanity publishing. You are basically being listed as one of life's mugs!

So I went in and changed all the data to a bunch of totally non sensical jibberish including my personal hobbies as Bernard Manning and my achievements as three times bass fishing champion etc.

Simple things please simple minds. A bit like watching my 6 year old running down the road with a giant empty plastic Lego bag just so it would fill with air.
