Sourcing from China? Good or bad experiences?

Hi All,

There's a lot of debate about B2B sourcing from China because of recent 'Quality' issues (eg Mattel toys) or IPR infringement & 'fake' products (eg Colgate toothpaste).

We're a British firm specialising in soucing from China for UK firms & so feedback from those at the sharp end is, of course, the most valuable - so I thank you in advance

Has your firm ever sourced from China?
If yes, how did it go/is it going?
If no, what are your major concerns & do you see your firm 'going direct' or using a 3rd party (e.g a sourcing company, such as ourselves)?

Any feedback would be great & help's us improve how we serve UK clients.

Thanks! Oz

(Search Google for 'Solutions Royale' to see our website, feedback appreciated there, too!)

Re: Sourcing from China? Good or bad experiences?

It was a very good link to the Wholsale Forum and some great tips if anyone is thinking of having a go.
I think it depends on what you are going to trade if you are buying from outside Europe. In our business there has been a lot of trouble getting spares for Chinese refrigeration and questionable reliabilty from a couple of large manufacturers. Its no good buying the cheapest if its going to get you a bad rep.
I know someone else who imports trainers and is very happy with his set up and product quality.
