A company, lets call them "fleabay" to keep this anonymous, is harassing me for false debts.
Last year around July, my company incurred around £3,000 of fees for listing items for 10 days, instead of 30 days (we were charged 1p each per item).
The company said it wasn't a problem, if we deleted all the items they would refund all the fees, and so, that same day we cleared all of our items. 2 months later the fees tripled up to £12,000, and they couldn't tell us why, and all of our emails went unanswered along, and the telephone support was useless - including telling us to pay the debt, and then they would refund it.
In September we were suspended, and the amount forwarded on to a debt collection agency (the letter we received said £10,793.68).
I got in contact with the CEO of "Fleabay", whos personal assistant was helping me remove the fees.
She cancelled the debt collection, and stated that the fees would be removed (I have full email logs).
Emails/phone calls continued for a few months, each time I was being told the fees would be removed that week. This didn't happen, and eventually my emails went unanswered.
I gave up with Fleabay, until today, I've just received a letter from another debt collection agency. This time it states I owe £7,378.82.
The letters from both collection agencies are sent to a person named "Head Office" at my address, so it's not a real person. We haven't received a single invoice detailing what the fees are for, and if we login to our account it just says the details are unavailable or the page times out.
My question is, how should I handle this?
Sue them for harrassment / false debts? Wait for the debt collection agency to take "Head Office" to court?
Thanks for your help
