Canton trade fair china, who's going?

As you guys will know canton trade fair is on this week? Who is going?

This is the first time I have been to this trade fair, I'm expecting it to be very hectic looking at the amount of exhibitors attending on the cantofair.org website.

I will write up a few little reports on my blog for those of you interested and that can't make it.

Who has been before? How did you find it?

Thanks

Hi Daniel,

Yes the Canton fair is a great place to meet suppliers, but to also build a large network as many foreign business from across the world attend.

What type of products will you be looking for?

All the best!

More and more manufactures won't go to Canton Fair as the outcome is not as good as expected.

Hello Daniel,

I have read your notes. Good for you! Its terribly important to have a go at this sort of adventure while you are young and have few financial burdens.

My partners are in Shenzhen and I too fly to HK rather than direct to China. Then get a van over to SZ. The road journey across the bridges of Hong Kong is spectacular.

Surprised you make light of the Invitation Letter for a business visa though? When I applied for my latest visa I had the Chinese Embassy ring me because my name in my passport was different from that on the letter. So I assume they take some interest in these letters?

My main product area is office furniture, so I went CIFF last year rather than the type of exhibitions now on. But having been once, to be honest I wouldn't go again. We have much more success in using our sourcing teams to search out factories. We can be sure we are dealing with the right people and we often find they do not exhibit.

The other topic you might mention in your notes (Though there are so many interesting things about China...) is the food, menu's, KFC!, etc. The experience we have in the UK of Chinese food is so different from China. But KFC is much the same!

I wish you continued good luck!

Hey G,
I'v read all your comments here.I'm a Chinese and doing exporting also.Yes,you'r right, not every supplier will go to this fair and many of them are even better.China is a supermaket ,you need spent more time to search the goods and suppliers.Thank you !
