If you are doing Ok with your shop why not start something part time instead of twiddling your thumbs and if it goes well ditch you retail business for it? Or could business pick up as retail grows?

awh kinda sad you are shutting up shop but totally understand - boredom rots away at you! Dog walking is good though, I used to do it until I got attacked twice lol. Now since you are closing up can you say what your shop sold? I'm totally nosey

Thanks all again, I already run a website from the shop it's sales are pathetic and certainly not a stand alone business. I also still firmly believe that independent online retailers will be dropping like flies this year, and only those with the big bucks for advertising, and ability to loose money hand over fist for the first few years, will be the only winners.

Anyhow, I'm now shutting up at the end of May, job done there.

On a plus side and maybe of interest to others in a similar position, I said a few days ago the business was worth sod all, I was wrong! I've already had an offer to buy the name/logo (trademark 'em guys - it pays off ) and most of the equipment/fittings.
