I’m not a huge fan of digital art cartoons but I am determined to learn how to draw them. This is my first ever attempt at a hand-drawn caricature shaded using cartoon software Pixia (free cartoon software). It was fairly easy to shade, now onto bigger and better digital art effects!!

Free software pixia download available here

I've decided to create a new, relaxed, informal cartoonist forum for beginners, amateurs and professional cartoonists. I hope the forum will enable cartoonists to enjoy a more chilled out forum posting experience.

I am not sure how it'll work long term but for now the aim of the forum is to allow cartoonists a platform to display their wares. There is a blog feature, live chat board and I'm presently allowing signature links and other means for self-promotion.

I have recently been accepted as a children’s book reviewer by top ranking children’s book site Best Children’s Books.

My first review is on a book I read and loved as a child called The Borribles.

I drew a picture of how I imagine a Borrible to look as seen here.

How to spot a CHAV - are you a CHAV?

I was inspired to draw this chav cartoon after a pal and I were discussing what a chav is and what one has to do and wear to be a Chav. So here's my idea of what a Chav looks like. I've drawn it cartoon style using fibre and brush tip pens.

I think this cartoon chav looks a bit like Jordan aka Katie Price.

Here's my 'How to spot a Chav list'.

  • Collagen

Children's Book Illustrator - UK

Posted 27th January 2010 at 18:34 by Unique Gift
I am in the process of drafting some book illustrations for some dark children's stories (more children's stories for adults than actual stories for children!) and would like some feedback please.

The pictures of course do not make sense without the accompnaying text but to help, the singing moon cows are part of a sci-fi style short story and the girl in the cave is part of a dark..eventually unhappy ending story of shattered dreams.
