We have just started a competition to get people to post on my forum by offering our training package for the best post over a 12 week period. We dont seem to have many people taking up the competition. We have asked for a minimum of 30 posts to qualify, is this too many do you think? Other observations and suggestions would be welcome. Thanks in advance, and here is a link to the competition page:

Thanks in advance - Gina

Considering you only have 15 members i am not surprised, have you been advertising elsewhere?

Hi Nick - We only started the forum a few days ago, so I suppose its very early days.

Hi,
I don't think strategy is the issue - but sales technique.
I have the attention span of a goldfish on new sites and I could not see the 'what's in it for me?' bit.
Good old Features / benefits / problems / solutions.

If I cannot immediately see what your prize will do for me, I move on to somewhere else.

So - I'd suggest getting the 'in your face' solution with the 'problem' as the bait. Does that make any sense?

Thanks Stephen, I will try and revise that bit. Are you saying that I should get all that in at the start of the post, or somewhere else in the forum?

Yep makes perfect sense, I probably (wrongly) assumed that everyone would have some knowledge of the benefits of the loans business. I have revised this now, so we will see if it does any good - Gina
