Hi Mr B,

Have you spoken to your local Chamber of Commerce or Business Link? They are normally able to advise on various sources of funding, loans or grants that you may be entitled to for your business. They can also advise on finding commercial property. Do give them a call and ask to speak to an advisor who is proficient in your field.

You could also try ringing around commercial estate agents local to Glasgow. If you are not in that area, maybe the Rightmove website might be of assistance.

Best of luck.

Michelle.

Thanks Essence for the reply, I have not contacted my local Chamber of Commerce or Business Link yet. I will definitely need to do so.

Many thanks

I have been tempted on many an occasion to quit my full time job as a first line Tech Support and them start on my own computer consultancy business; I now feel that it is now or never. Is there any financial assistance for new start-up? Could anyone tell me the easiest way to find the premises in Glasgow? Any feedback or comment is needed about my website http://www.bgcomputers.net too

Thanks in advance

Hi Mr B :D

I am using firefox to browse your site and each time I click a link in your navigation, I get the following message:

The resource cannot be found.
Description: HTTP 404. The resource you are looking for (or one of its dependencies) could have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. Please review the following URL and make sure that it is spelled correctly.

Requested Url: /www.bgcomputers.net/Repair_Ticket.aspx

The navigation works fine in Internet Explorer.

Your design has potential, nice professional colour scheme but it is lacking definition in terms of the layout.

Thank you blackcatz:

You are right. There are some problems with CSS when using Firefox. I will do something about it soon
Thanks for the comment

well you need to achieve consistency across all pages in the site, headings need to be positioned and coloured in the same way across all pages (there are blue and black headings at the moment)

Thanks in advance

Take the home page for example, it looks fine until you get past the paragraph "We have extensive range of reliable and cheap suppliers of PC Components. A quality Custom Built computer will save you time and money"

The page starts to then look out of control, the bullet points are too spaced out and your certified images and mobile number look lost.

The sub sections lack headings and in particular the "feedback" section, as it looks like the form has just been dumped anywhere.

The best page of your site is http://www.bgcomputers.net/Support.aspx it is nicely laid out, all the text is neat and compact and is just lacking a heading and small imagery to make the page more complete.

If you set out all your pages in the same way as the support page, added simple headings with maybe some professional imagery, then your site will look much more professional.

You have picked the perfect font and the black/blue colour scheme you have going on blends well.

Overall I like your site, I just feel you need to make some minor changes.

Hi Mr B,

Couple of comments on your site - The picture on the front page looks suspicously like a Dell PC. On the same page you are offering custom PCs. I know Dell have very few resellers so you might want to be careful about the inference - also Dell can be quite heavy handed over copyright infringement.

Yo be honest - it might be worth finding something funkier looking from another manufacturer. Shuttle (http://eu.shuttle.com/en/DesktopDefault.aspx/tabid-61/150_read-4575/) have an image bank where you can download images for just such a purpose :-) very professionally taken as well.

Some of the greybox manufcaturers in Japan also have press sites that you can use pictures from.

Other than that - I like the idea and wish you all the best!

Andy

Network through BNI, BRE, BoB Clubs, this web site, Ecademy, business clubs, Chamber of Commerce - but look particularly to businesses that can refer their customers to you, and try to be consistent - sometimes people need to meet you several times to be comfortable about giving you business, sometimes you have to wait until they need you.
