HI
I have had said company on the phone saying that they guarantee me page 1 listings (adwords obviously) for 1 month, 24/7 for 5 keyword phrases. For £99.
Now. I know what I spend on adwords and it's a lot more than that.
And they are assuring me that it will be on page one sponsored ads 24/7. (I keep getting them to say 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 31 days of the month just to be sure).
Have asked them to put this in writing, because their website says guaranteed first page listings, but doesn't say the 24/7 bit (surprise surprise).
So, I know they're adwords managers, and i know how adwords works, and I do currently run an adwords campaign, that does cost me more than £99 a month.
So, how do I tie this up so it's 100% watertight??

I can't see how they are going to make any money. £99 won't be anywhere near enough for competitive keywords.
They do say though that there won't be any additional click charges so make sure you get them to guarentee that no matter how many clicks you get at whatever CPC your ads will still appear all day every day.
BTW: Their website is dreadful and their SEO strategy is a load of bo**ox.

Yep, no additional click charges, simply monthly £99 flat fee. Their normal price is £349pm which i can see if they hard cold telesell they will end up with some customers they win on and some they loose on and overall make a profit. Can't see it happening with the £99 though, maybe it's just a get them in the door, take the knock, hope they stick around marketing tatic.
Will wait and see if the requested email turns up :)

Also tie in which countries! They could well get you listed #1 in outer Mongolia or some other bizarre country but you will want UK, Ireland and other countries too.

If you read their offer you will see that they only target google.co.uk.
Thought: are they doing geolocation - might be worth checking that out 'cos if you only get a 10 mile radius around the croft you live in Sandra you ain't gonna be that busy.

That's it Graham, its geospecific :) And apparently, London isn't a geospecific area :D (And 10miles radius from we would cover trees, sea & Northern Ireland, i love it when google tells me my nearest chinese takeaway is in Belfast!)
He's going to get back to me with national prices - they may be "a little bit" more expensive.
next update 5 mins!!

I would advise you NOT to use this co. my husband was talked into using them. the site they 'built' was rubbish - one page, phone number and co name wrong. they took payment out of our personal account and then set themselves up a little payment scheme out of both our personal account and company account £99 x 2 each month. I cancelled the 'contract' which had never been signed and still they took the money. we ended up reporting it as bank fraud and they are still taking the money but at least now they take it every month and the business bank refund it every month. still a load of hassle and now i have to sue them for all the money taken out of the personal account. an absolute waste of time! makes me very very angry.

I didn't read their offer, got better things to do, I do my own adwords stuff, don't need a company like that to do it for me.
nothing was mentioned in this thread re locations hence me posting, some people may not bother to checkout that link so the thread should contain as much of the info as possible

You can get the bank to issue you new cards (with a new number) which will stop the payments from the card you have put that contract on, then it will stop.

Kev,
We asked the bank to simply close the company credit card account and they would not. did not think of just reporting the cards missing! you know whats its like we both run businesses (he is security and i am a solicitor so we should know better) and have two toddlers so this has got pushed to the back of a very long list. will cancel the cards - that'll stop the cheeky buggers!
thanks

tbh, i run our own adwords campaign, and the only reason i continued this conversation with them is because what they are offering is cheaper than I can do it.
We will see, what is on the table is quite interesting at present.
And don't worry, it would only be adwords campaign, i wouldn't let anyone touch my website who i don't trust thoroughly ;)

running ads on the content network is much cheaper too, so make sure theyr doing both search and content. Google also default to mobiles too and that's a bit naff imo.
A separate campaign should be setup for mobiles if targeting that platform.
Quite often you can get 1st positions by targeting keywords that sites rank for who have adsense, so in a sense it is #1 position but not visible unless you goto the #1,2 website links, although from the looks of this thread that may not be an issue?

So basically, you get 5 terms (of your choice) with a location in?
Ie Parcel Delivery London etc?

Yep, seems like it. I'd watch the small print though, i'm not through to that yet.
I've told them i'll phone them back tomorrow, see what happens.
