HI guys,
I need to pick your brain about something! At present i have a really good idea for a new website that is currently being built. Its a lead generating comparison type of site, for which i will make money through several different revenue streams.
My issue is that big national marketing, advertising and brand awareness of the site will make all the difference. Its the type of site that has a vast target market, but the more people that know about it, the more revenue i will make from it.
With this in mind, I have very little funds, so need to find a good size investment, for which i will use the money on the PR and marketing of the product nationally. I have a few issues that i need advice on:
How can i predict and forcast revenue for a national lead generation site, when there really isnt much to compare it to, plus the figures would be directly effected by exactly how much money i put into the marketing
How can i attract an investor in the early stages, with no history behind the project and no money to start advertising to gain the history?
Whats stopping the potential people that i approach, just doing the idea themselves?
How can i best get an idea of the size of marketing that i will need to successfully get the product out there nationally?
Is there any grants that deal with new website businesses?
I am trying to write the business plan, but as I only have experience with local businesses, im finding it hard to luck at it nationally, i.e sales forcasts, budgets, marketing etc... Where can i find help on this?

Should i approach similar websites that dont cover my products to see if they would like to invest??
