Hi,

I'm 22 years old, and have just brought the .com/.org/.net version of a domain name that I'd like to develop. I have a few ideas on how to develop it, but, and he's the issue, I have no business knowledge or any idea of how to go about it!

I only have a vague idea, but I need advice on how to flesh it out and perhaps make it work...

Hope you can help. :)

umm... not quite sure what sort of business you're talking about, but heres what you'd need; webdevelopers (with SEO experience) to make your website, legal knowledge of any special processes involved with the product you're selling, a money handling programme (Nochex/worldpay/paypal (no :P)), and when all thats set up, an advertising campaign. What exactly are you looking to develope...? You may also want to look at competitors in your field to see what they've done, then add more...

again, advice is difficult to give without knowing what you are selling/ developing, but a knowledge of your goals for the business, your target market and your competitors are all important.
Take a look at some business plan outlines (you can get free templates from Microsoft online) to see the kind of basics that people think about when starting a new venture.

Have you thought about talking your idea and concerns through with a business advisor? This can be from any number of organisations from BusinessLink, Princes Trust, Innovation Centres and the likes. That may be a good starting point for you.
