I'm pretty sure they're a legit company. Sister firm to Market Safe who we use.

Negotiate hard and you can get a good deal.

If you do sign up you should get a hefty discount on their normal prices. However, you will need to cancel the service in writing before the end of the first year as your contract will be auto-renewed on the first anniversary at their 'normal' i.e. much higher prices.

I have been using them for a few years.

Very very good for checking out potential clients. I now routinely check people out and on several occasions I have found people with dozens of ccjs and hundreds of thousands of debt.

But do as the other guy said and bargain hard don't pay anything like what they ask initially!!

PM me for more info

as business123 said, look for a hefty discount - I think we paid under £90 for their £1000 package - best approach is to enquire, then let them chase you!.

I would recomend as soon as you sign up (assuming you do) send them a letter, recorded, stating that you want to cancel at the end of the year - this will prevent their auto renewing, which will cost £1000 or a lot of court threats.

I've been with Credit Safe for year and the checks are an invaluable tool to any business. Put it this way, I started my subscription in 2004 and our last bad debt was in 2003. Worth it's weight in pound coins. Easily track customers, competitors and prospective customers.

We also tried Market Safe but were very disappointed with the quality of leads generated. Most of the contact were out of date, there was lots of repetition and many companies weren't trading in the market that they were listed against. So, unless this has improved we would recommend avoiding this option.

You can negotiate a heavy discount on packages. It's like renewing you car insurance each year they always come down on pricing.

Yes my company uses Credit Safe UK and we find them really good for searches on companies.

Hope this helps xx

We've used them for a about 10 months now and find it very useful. We had an email from them last week saying they were improving the service on the 23rd February which will give more up to date credit scores.

I didn't realise about the renewal cost though so I've emailed them today to confirm the renewal cost. I'll let you know the answer I get.

Be warned we signed up then I looked through the t&c its a load of bull basically your restricted on checks etc. Oh as soon as your 1 year is up you have next to no chance of getting discount on further years. Their sales talk is a load of crap too I'm afraid.

Bad egg and I wouldn't touch them again plus they sell your contact info even though you ask them not to and you get totally harassed from their sister companies.

We cancelled way before the contract expired (or was automatically renewed!) and was offered the discounts again if we re-signed when they contact us at the end of the term. Although the service worked great, we didn't want to be caught out the following year, so left it. We use www.checksure.biz (http://www.checksure.biz) now for one-off searches.

I have just signed up again for £250 for a year of unlimited company and director searches plus 3000 specific profiles.

If you look in thier Ts and Cs and has an opt out of Auto Renewal email address which you email your details Inc account number and they sent me back a confirmation within 24 hours confirming receipt. I printed this off and kept it in my purchase invoices with the Invoice.

I find it really helpfull for my business as I can check out a company before I proceed further with the Network.

Yep well worth the money, a very useful tool. I always use it as a basic due dilligence tool when checking out any business opps, amazing how many individuals/companies on the net selling stuff and claiming revenues of hundreds of thousands yet bizarrely their accounts *never* reflect this!

Exactly! I used to use mine to check out these Business Guru's/Consultants who I saw or met at networking events etc. Most of their account never reflected their sales and a number had failed companies in the past.

Mixed responses there! CS are not a scam outfit and have proved useful to us in the past.

I am no good at haggling...if I want something I can't hide it and any good salesman will pick that up! What I have found is how funny it is that sale people will slash their prices if they really think there is no way you'll pay full wack. Just keep saying 'no can't afford it, sorry' and do that till they offer it for £100!!

They're not scam artists but you can tell their sales team is highly charged and will do (almost) anything to sign up a new client. You can actually hear the screams in the background when a new client is signed up - not very professional IMO but as has been said before their system is good value for money so long as you fight for a heavy discount. I played them for over a week to get the price I wanted.

The Cap only apllies if your account auto renews without you renegotiating a new deal.

I received the following confirmation email from them when I asked about the capping in the Ts and Cs.:

That is for the auto renewal. And you don’t have auto renewal anyway as I removed it.

You have unrestricted access

Hope this helps?

I have an account with them. The quaility of the reports and info they supply has always been first rate. Negotiate on price. You can do deals with these people. Just dig your heels in.

Ask them to email you the quote, and say you will get back to them on Monday.

On Monday email them back saying you have had a look and are interested, but only want to pay £250 or less for exactly the unlimited package with no Caps and No Auto Renew.

Say you are not interested in any other offer. They will come down.

Especially these days when businesses are desparate for orders.

I actually managed to negotiate a "buy one get one free" in Tesco a few weeks ago. They had run out of large bags of dog food and the small (1/3 size) ones were twice as expensive per 100 grammes. So I asked. The manager agreed and fixed it at the till.

IF YOU DON'T ASK YOU DON'T GET
