Where to start?

I am an artist and garden designer with a passion for colour.

I originally studied Fine Art at Oxford University before completing postgraduate studies in Landscape Architecture and Garden Design -

Viewing the garden as a extension of the home, I now combine my love of colour and the built environment: painting with plants to provide intelligent, creative solutions that maximise the potential of your outdoor space, as well as the value of your property www.alicebowe.co.uk

Recognising that garden design (like any extension...) is not a cheap project to embark upon, I offer a range of services for those with a more limited budget in addition to my bespoke services

With individually commissioned Garden Design by post schemes starting (from £199) and the development and implementation of new planting schemes from £500, there is no excuse not to enjoy a glorious garden this summer.

At the end of the day - I am here to work with you to create a timeless and beautiful garden that can be enjoyed all year round - my one aim: always to surpass my clients' expectations.

Hi Alice and welcome to the forums.

Initially your website gives a very colourful and bright feel but I was disappointed by the lack of garden designs. Are there more in the pipeline?

As one whose garden is currently more like a tip with a 10 ft high pile of former conifers and moss covered paving I can currently appreciate your skills :)

Look forward to seeing your ideas on the forums.

Hi Alice,
As an "ex-artist" and someone who used to enjoy gardening right up until he settled down with wife, kid and self-employment, I enjoyed glimsing at your website.
My passion was more for water based features, specifically I used to have a lovely pond with a fantastic collection of Japanese Koi and surrounding rockery. Now I find the garden a chore that must be attended to when we lose our daughter in the outback ;)

Welcome to the forums!

Hi Alice,

I hate gardening and have no artistic talents however I do appreciate the benefits of both. Welcome.

Good comment about the website - thank you.

I will put up some more images of my designs and the gardens I have built - It was due for a slight rejig this weekend anyway!!!!

Great to meet you all - Alice

P.s. if you want to avoid moss covered paving you need to pick a stone with less than 2% porosity so that there is not enough water for the moss to survive..... but it's probably a tad late for me to be telling you that!
