If you had a product that was pure luxury (ie a soap bar or cream) on the packaging or box would you state-The worlds most luxurious soap, cream etc i dont mean in huge letters, just tastefully done to highlight the quality of the product or would you not put this on the packaging?
P.S. the product is pure luxury and would qualify in the statement 'most luxurious' as per ingredients etc

No, I wouldn't put that on the box as it's unsubstantiated.

You will never be able to prove it is the worlds most luxurious soap or cream so such a claim can be regarded as misleading.

However you could get away with statements like:

"Arguably the most luxurious soap in the world"

"Pure Luxury - Absolutely!"

Both of these statements cannot be challenged unless the product is defective.

it is not classed as misleading as the actual term is 'puffery' in your opinion it is the most luxurious item in the world and thus you can state that.

Personally I always think that if a product has to say it is the most luxurious (or something similar) then it probably isn't.

Normally the best products are very understated and get by on the actual quality rather than telling people about the quality. If you get what I mean.

That's interesting, so when I say 'I am the worlds best builder'

Which is true, does that make me a puffery??

I do hope not!!

No don't put it on. If you have the right design for your packaging then you wont need to suggest quality it will be evident.
