evenin all,
we have a small shop and out the back a warehouse space of about 100 sq ft, it's not warm out there at the minute and we have health and safety due next week. it says in the guidance if a temperature cannot be maintained at 13 degrees then local heating should be used, lcoal heating seems to mean a heating system that would heat the entire warehouse but we're way too small simply couldnt afford it. sometimes one of the guys packs up stuff on a desk in the warehouse, if we have heater by his desk does that count as local heating?
i've just read the actual law on this and it doesnt ellaborate so i suppose real life experience of the ehaltha nd safety man is what we need here.
we've also got to big lights in the warehouse but its a bit darker near the back were we dont realy use it, again it says "adequate light" is there an actual minimum standard that they work too ?
there doesnt seem to be too many specifics in the law or on business link etc if anyone has any links to sites which go into this in detail that'd be handy as i'd prefer to have everything 100%, im always in other buinesses warehouses etc which are exactly the same as ours, its certainly no risk to anyone but ive also heard of people getting stung by the old h and s!
fun saturday night in my house anyway lol
