Hi everyone,
i was wondering can anybody recommend a good online merchant company that can take online payments for my website.
Hsbc has refused saying we have to be with them for 12months.
i also need a offline facility where i can take payment over the phone too.
any suugestions greatly appreciated.

Unless you can get a merchant account with another bank then you are restricted to Paypal and Google Checkout. Try a few of the other banks for a merchant account, Barclays i would try first.

From my experience if you are going to go down the more professional route then Protx would be a good choice. They seem one of the most economical to run & good support.

Yep i agree, i use Protx but you will still need a merchant account with a bank to use it.

yes we use protx but as already stated you will need a merchant account first to be able to receive your transactions

get paypal web payments pro, you can then take credit cards direct from your site, and use the virtual terminal to take phone credit card orders.

I use Llyods TSB Cardnet and didnt have any problems with the application process.
