Paypal and direct debits

All of a sudden the Direct Debit symbol has appeared on Paypal alongside Visa, Maestro etc. This would be ideal for us - we have been investigating alternate online options - but we can't for the life of us find any further information on this.

Is this a new feature for Paypal, so new they perhaps haven't had a chance to get the info on site? Or are we missing something totally obvious before our eyes ?

I have also noticed this, and it is ideal for us, too. I don't know if it's a new thing with Paypal, as we haven't needed it before. Unfortunately, we haven't investigated further yet, so would be keen to know if anyone else has sussed it out yet.
