View Full Version : Is this possible with PayPal

I want to add a credit based system into an existing website whereby members can buy credits via PayPal. So the idea is that one credit costs a pound and a member can buy credits in blocks of 10.

Anyway my question is if it is possible to automate it so my database is updated as soon as someone buys some credits. I assume that this would require that PayPal returns some kind of call to a script on my website.

Any advice much appreciated!

Thanks

Paul

Hi Yes that is easiliy done.
You need to set up the credit system as products, then use Paypal IPN to notify your database that a successful transaction has taken place and been paid for.

The database would then credit the members account with the number of credits bought. The credits could then be used on your website to sell what ever you like.

If you need a quote for the job send us an email or give us a call with the details.

Warm Regards,
Joe

Thanks Joe for the reply. I wasn't sure of the terminology to describe it but when I type in Paypal IPN, I get plenty of resources.

I would love to outsource the work but things are very quiet on the work front for me this year so I will have to do this myself.

Cheers
