Hello everyone :)
I've just joined the forum and I'm looking forward to reading all your interesting posts. It's just one year since I set up my business - A Magickal Life - a new age online site/shop (http://www.amagickallife.co.uk). Previous to that I was working full time in higher education. This last year has been what I would call a rather steep learning curve (!), but an enjoyable one nonetheless.
Anyway I look forward to being part of the community.
Best wishes

Hi Teri,
Welcome to the forum. You have a great website and I also like the talking website buddy - nice :)
The first year is always the hardest and the most enlightening. As you have made it past the first year you have achieved something 50% of new businesses don't!

Thanks everyone for the welcome & kind words about the site. It was interesting to read that 50% of new businesses don't last beyond the first year. I didn't realise that.

Thats not an exact figure, something I heard a little while ago. I think I'll dig the research out to get the full stats as I'd like to know for sure :)

Thanks Alpha. I'm glad that comes across - it was one of the things I wanted when I first started thinking about the site (that and lots of purple :) ).

I am afraid of saying anything in case I get hexed, but the talking head thing is not good. You can't replace good website navigation with audio commentary.
Whatever you are making on that site I reckon I could double it for you and keep the friendly welcoming feel. I could even keep your Saturday Girl if you like, just make her less in your face.
Well done on making it through your first year though.
And maybe you aren't in this for the filthy lucre and are enjoying the ride.
Good luck with the site.

Lol-I wont hex you I promise ;)
No we're happy with it as it is growing and developing. I'm not in it for the money & enjoy working on it myself. But thank you for taking the time to visit it.
Best wishes

Teri,
Welcome. I love purple... I once had a purple mini and it was ace. There should be more purple in the world.
I am off to go find ozzy and see if we can get a proper purple font :)
