Hi all,i recieved payments as a sub contractor during 2008 under the cis at a 20% deduction,im a sole trader electrician and one firm i work for pays me in this way
What i want to know is which box should this figure should be inserted into on the self assessment form as its confusing me a little,do i add the total figure(£12000) before tax into the turnover?
sorry if its a stupid question and i know ive missed the deadline!

The box for the CIS deductions depends if you are using the long or short version of the self employment pages. For the full version, the relevant box is box 79 on page 4. For the short version, it's on page 2 - box 35 (I think)

The turnover would be the full amount including tax (£12,000) and the tax deducted (presumably £2,400) goes in box 35/79.
