I called Working Families Tax Credit phone line and they say that the texts emails that I have been getting re the rebate from 2002-2003 is not a scam. If you have a child born before 2003 and after 1987 (?) you may be eligable for a rebate of £500. See form 11CTC on HMRC but it has to be in (received by post) by this Saturday!! You might be able to do it if you get the post tonight! You need to have your P60 or PAYE number. DO CALL YOURSELF to check that you feel it is not a scam. I am only passing on the information that I got from WFTC and lots of my friends.
Apparently it is because that was the year that they swapped from paying through your pay to paying directly to individuals and many people didn't get it.
