My wife set up shop about 6 months ago and, despite choosing her preferred electricity supplier, she is still getting at least 4 calls a week from other suppliers trying to tempt her to go with them.
Initially she was told that the calls were coming because her meter had not been registered to anyone. Now that it is, the calls don't haven't reduced, even though she tells them that she is in a contract.
Many of the callers try all sorts of tricks to get her into a contract. Yesterday she was asked for a meter reading and she thought the caller was from a central service. She had the good sense to stall the caller who rang again today. It was then that she realised that this was a supplier trying to get her into a contract.
Anyone else getting this problem?
