Hi,

The more I read the more I get confused, hoping someone can point me to some answers or provide some advice :)

Say, company formed 6 Aug 07.
First money didn't come in until Feb 08 (although work and invoices sent earlier). Was a few lump payments, nothing else received after end of March.
Default period of return with corporation tax online is from 06 Aug 07 to 05 Aug 08.
Would it be more accurate to file with a period of return:
a) 6 Aug 07 to 5 Aug 08
b) 6 Aug 07 to 31 Mar 08
c) 1 Apr 07 to 31 Mar 08
d) other - please specify and explain?

In addition, company address changed around the time CT603 would have come specifying period of return. Is there a way to locate one's CT603 online or acquire it from Companies House?

Since this is first year of company, does this change the filing dates or is it still 31/1/08 + 9 months + 1 day?

Finally, is there a special layout required for attachments and computations when filing the return? The guiding questions just indicate .pdfs required as attachments - that's no problem, just the info inside that I wonder about.

Assistance much appreciated.

My answer would be to get come help. Example to support this - your year end is set at company formation and unless you change it you do accounts to that date.

A CT form is from HMRC not Co House.

If co formed 06/08/07 and you haven't changed y/e then first year end is 31/08/08.

CT due on 06/08/07 to 05/08/08 - 9 months and 1 day after 05/08/07

then next CT period is 05/08/08 - 31/08/08

All with be sent to HMRC with full accounts to 31/08/08 and 2 CT returns to support above

Then send abbreviated accounts to co house.

As I said this is unless you have changed the year end
