hi there
i hope some one may shed some light on this.
My oh has paid tax at higher rate but not claimed relief, would he put this in his S/a, if so would he put the full amount paid into employers pension scheme.
deadline looming!!
Much appreciated

yes put it on the self assessment.
I see this is your first post - the etiquette here is to introduce yourself in the Intro Thread.
Good luck with it here and hopefully we will see you adding some valuable contributions very soon. It is what makes this place work so well. :)

Whether to include in your SA will depends whether your oh received tax relief at source and what type of pension scheme is. You need to find out from your pension provider, regarding scheme, tax relief etc.

You say that this is a contribution to an employer's pension scheme - does that mean that it is deducted from his salary and shown on his payslip? And the taxable pay is the gross earnings less the pension payment?
If that's the case, no entry is required on the Self Assessment form because the pay shown on the P60 will be net taxable pay.
If it's a contribution to a personal pension scheme, then the gross amount goes on the form.
You need to be clear what kind of scheme it is.

I have a similar problem with pension relief. I think there is pension relief payable but where would the entry go on the Self Assessment form. I have been looking for this for days.

If you told us what kind of pension it was, you'd get an answer - see my post above
