Hi Guys i was wondering if anyone knew anything about operating ebay abroad.
As England becomes bankrupt and more miseable to live in, i for one will be moving overseas.
Basically i'm wondering if you can opperate your english ebay site abroad?
Many thanks

I've been on eBay for 7 years and, like you, would love to be somewhere less bankrupt and more sunny!
A friend of mine moved to Spain a while back and still uses her eBay shop - it just changes the location to Spain instead of the UK. EBay automatically shows the prices in Euros and the currency of whichever country you're viewing from anyway, so there isn't much difference.
Most people don't bother to change the bit that says whether their search is 200 miles or more away, anyway, so her listings still show up on UK searches.
She lists in English, too.

One of my main competitors operates ebay stores from canada.

I expect he isnt paying any vat or tax in this country which is an unfair advantage over me.

Canada has similar tax laws to us due to them being an old colony.

I know a couple of people who operate Ebay shops abroad. One is very successful and neither appear to have any problems with working outside the UK (both are in Europe).

Good Luck!

What makes you think that overseas is any better and less bankrupt as you put it? i thought we had a worldwide recession.

Maybe it is a worldwide recession but at least you can get a tan whilst going bust:D
