My company drop-ships from the states. After taking a hit in the face by the exchange rate lately, I am looking at drop-shipping from China. Electric's are very cheap and the exchange rate... well it doesnt even come into it.

Has anyone had any experience with dealings from the Far East? I understand that most people will not give away supplier details but that is not what I am asking.

Thanks in advance

PS. I drop-ship more than jewellery, jewellery is not what I would drop-ship from China (example)

The Chinese also deal in US dollars so I imagine you will face the same problem. The GBP is down against pretty much every currency. So anything you are facing your competitors are. The best way to deal with the situation is to cut every cost you can without affecting the quality of the work you do.

what products are you after?

You will not really be able to offer value on branded products, for several reasons, and there is a lot of competition in unbranded!

I would like to start drop-shipping the likes of iphones, PSP's, Sony VAIO etc. I drop-shipped HD Camcorders in the past which came from China although I got them indirectly from the USA. I was told by the USA that China had tightend its belt in terms of so called "grey imports" ahead of the olympic games and they could no longer do business.

What do you think? and thanks for the post...
