Hi everyone, a little advice needed please....
I have very recently started up my own small business but have been told there's no need to register with Companies House as I'm not a limited company, I'm a soletrader.
Firstly is this correct and secondly if this is true where should I be registering my company name instead?
Cheers

If you are working as a sole trader you don't need to register anywhere.
I think the question you should probably be asking though is whether being a sole trader is the right this?

You only need to register with the inland revenue if you are a sole trader and need to do so within 3 months of starting or they can theoretically give you a fine of £100. Companies house is for registering Ltd companies, PLC and so on which if you see yourself going down that route in the near future, you can register your company as dormant so that you bag the trading name so that someone else cant use it.
