Hello all,

I know already - This isn't really the place to report stolen goods - but its worth a try?

I had a bike stolen from me on Friday (16th) outside Sainsbury’s, Barnwood, Gloucester between 4:30 and 9:30.

Below are a few details of the bike.

Reebok Laser
Silver with Red & Black stickers
V type breaks
Full suspension
Bit of rust on handle parts

The bike is fairly new and I use it every day to cycle to college & work.
(24 miles per week). I could go through the insurance but there asking an
excess of £150, which I can’t really afford.

I’m not expecting you to hear anything – But I’m trying to spread the word
across.

According to my manager (At sainsburys), this is the third bike stolen within a week.

Please contact me on: James.wasley@blueyonder if you hear anything.

Thanks,

James

Have you reported it to the police also? Its a bit of a long shot, but it sometimes pays off, I had a bike recovered, and a lost dog, both recovered really fast - but its a long shot as often you never see your goods again.

I dont suppose it was in view of any of the cctv cams in the area, if it was its worth asking if they have any footage of who took it. (But be quick, as chances are the footage wont be there for much longer)

Now if I park my mtb up I try to leave it in view of a cctv cam (if possible) and make sure its got good a good lock on.

Even that does not stop them though, came out of the doctors one day and someone was stripping parts of the bike!

I haven’t reported it to the police because there only open Wednesday to Friday (What use is that !!)

Sainsbury’s did have CCTV on it, but you can’t see who stole it (It was to dark).

Any how – I’ve asked the security guard to burn me a copy.

The bikes fairly new and the locks new. Waste of money - Might of well put a sign up saying ''Any pricks fancy a free bike, help yourself!".

I reported it to the police yesterday and later that day, got a phone called from ''This is Gloucester'' (Newspaper).

Looks as if they want me posing for a photo. Not sure I want to do it....

ask them for some money for it... such as the price of the bike ;)
