I'm looking for something with a lot of features - I currently have a site on 123 reg, but it's very limited. Is there anything that has a member's area where people can be given passwords to access a video and documents area. Streaming video would be great.

It's for life coaching seminars if that helps..

Thanks in advance guys :)

There are hundreds of options, but a flexible, powerful CMS is possibly wjay you want. As mentioned a million times before on this forum, Drupal, Joomla.......

Is this something I can register for, pay monthly and work on myself like on 123 reg? Because that's what I'm looking for really. I found 123 reg fairly approachable, not entirely intuitive, but you can work it out.

I looked drupal up, and wasn't entirely certain what I was looking at. Seemed to be software that designers can use to build a site for you..

joomla and Drupal are free.

They are hosted on your server, but you need to have the right hosting package.

For a novice it isnt simple, but, in the big picture, it isnt that difficult to learn! They all have good tutorials and reasonable dicumentation.

I've been spending some time looking at Joomla! and Drupal hosts - but still am not sure how I'd go about setting up a member's area etc. I'm about to download Joomla! now and see if it becomes apparent..

it can be as simple as allowing them to register and controlling what registered users see (menu options, articles etc), to using a powerful extension allow great administration/management (virtually anything).

It looks daunting at first, but like anything, when you get used to it, it is easy peasy!. After using it for a few years, I still discover new things!

Hello,
We develop and supply live chat products that you can embed in your website.
For example you can copy and paste some script into a page so that multiple members can chat. It's inexpensive to buy and the calls are hosted via our VoIP servers. You're welcome to contact me charles(at)mexuar(dot)com and I can send you our product brochure.
