How can i create testing email addresses easy

Hello my website is due to launch next week at worst the week after

I want to make sure the testing is done to maximum effect if i want to create about 15 free emails addresses that i can test my sign up system with, auto responder etc what is the best program to use which is quick and easy and is easy to monitor from one place i.e emails could go in to seperate folders

Hi,

I'm going to say your web browser. A lot of these free e-mail services will be web based, and as such it will be easier to open multiple tabs in a web browser than to go to all the hassle of trying to find e-mail accounts using a pop service and then setting up an e-mail client to check each account.

In most web browsers - Internet Explorer/Firefox you can save all your addresses to a single folder, and then open the group as a whole.

This tells you your email is being recieved by one service, not multiple services.

I'm assuming the OP's testing here involves actually getting the emails past spam filters, so that proper customers can read them.

Fair enough, but I'm not sure you can create more than one 'free' email address with Hotmail etc. as you normally have to give them your full name and address details when you sign up, hence why I posted up about Mailinator.

There are other disposable email address services they can use as well if they want to go down this route, a simple Google search (http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=disposable+email+addresses&btnG=Google+Search&meta=) will reveal this.

Gmail, yahoo, hotmail etc you can create accounts in 2 mins on these...

However, no-one ever says you *have* to give them your correct details. I've lost count of the number of sites where I've registered with an email of 'effoff@spammers.com' (or similar) and a made-up postcode/address/zipcode/whatever. Even if they insist on a valid postcode, there's plenty of places where you can find alternative addresses - in that circumstance, I tend to like signing up with the company's own address/postcode. It's amazing how few places check information like that.

The other alternative (although it fails on the 'lots of different recipients on different mail hosts) is to set up a 'catch-all' email on your domain (assuming your hosts allows it). Then you can just send to test1@yoursite.com, test2@, test3@ etc., and they'll all come through to the one account.
