I'm in contact with a supplier online, how do i find out if they're genuine?

I intend to buy in bulk off this supplier but how do i go about this without getting ripped off. I mean, if i receive samples and theyre ok and then get drawn in for instance to purchase a a main bulk, how do i know theyr'e not gonna do a runner with my money? What are some precautions that i can put in place so that this cannot happen. Thanks.

if your order is not big,you can use paypal, and if your order is very big order,i suggest you to go to see the factory.

There are few things i would look into if i were to make a bulk purchase : especially from countries like china where a lot of good deals go on but then there are quite a few scam artists as well

1. Develop a relationship rather then jump on the wagon. Start small with small orders with progressive orders. If the company in question doesnt offer that ( if they are legit they should with different costing scheme) then chuck it.

2. Do try getting there registration number : All legal one's have it and do a checkup on it from the country business counsel to verify the legitimacy of the company

3. Get some documental proof from the company : as much illegits dont go through the pain of procuring falsified documents

4. In case of a really big deal : Do not think of making it without having to personally inspect the company. It will pay off in the long term ( assuming you are serious aboutthe business)

These are just some of the many things to be considered while wholesale procuring online.

I would agree with some of the points raised above, especially the link provided by J-Wholesale, thats a useful reference.
In general if you are doing business with an overseas company and are going to be spending a few thousand pounds, and its possible its a repeat order, really its crucial to use a reputable import agent, at least to do QC and verify the factory is ok, as they will help save you money in the long term

I think the best thing to do is arrange a visit and meet with them. OK it will cost x amount short term but you can see everything with your own eyes and judge for yourself.
