hi
please can someone sort out my muddled brain
we sold a product to france in dec (1 sale from our website for £135.62)
does this need to be entered into box 8 of the vat return - or is that for trade exports only ??
thanks

Yep, that should go in box 8. And you'll need to complete an EC Sales List which HMRC will send you at a latter date.

If this transaction is distance selling, then you have treat as domestic supply i.e. charged normal vat, Box 1 output tax, Box 6 value of supply, you do not need to complete EC list. As you have sold just one item I do not think you need to complete intrastat Supplementary Declaration.

EC sales list is for supplies of goods to a trader registered for VAT in another member state.

Yes you are correct.
