Hi There,
Does anyone have any experience of using Interspire as a shopping cart solution?
Their product looks interesting, but I'm wondering if they're very US centric. And if it lives up to the hype. Any feedback, good or bad would be useful.
Many Thanks

Yep,
We're an interspire partner and their software is great. Best ecommerce I personaly have ever worked with. The licenses are not too cheap, but I can not fault the software.
Very easy to make UK specific. If your interested in it we can provide thwe product licenses (cheaper than the interspire website) and provide the hosting too.

I may be interested in this in the near future. Can you pm me some prices?
Thanks

I could, but with the exchange rate like it is they tend to change every week, so it is probably best to drop me a PM when you are ready to proceed and I can give you an accurate price.

I use a couple of other interspire products and find the support great and the products robust.
I think they're Australian not American (bloody colonials)

Hi Peter,
Many thanks for this - always great to hear from people who have first hand experience... Which products do you use then? Have you used their email marketing product?
Thanks

We use their email marketing software and their article site creator. We have also used trackpoint which was their tracking software (they discontinued it last year and I wish they would bring it back).
All excellent.
Have looked at the ecommerce but are happy with VP.

I've been using their email product for about 3 years and the shopping cart since last year. I'm just doing my 5th client site on it. We're also a reseller, but I'm not going to try to nick business off NuBlue, I just say it because it means I'm happy enough with it to make recommendations to clients who know where I live ;-)
They are very good products, well supported and miles better than any "community" open source products. I've been so impressed I'm now trying out their knowledge manager product as a possible support tool.
The only downside is that the support is in Oz so it's a whole day between every step in the conversation.
Once you're up and running it's really easy to use though so it might be worth just paying a bit for someone to install it for you.
As for UK it has a Royal Mail Pricing module, can handle VAT correctly (it'll take seconds to swop back when the rate changes too!) and you can easily set GBP as your main currency. It even has stuff like being able to select postal towns correctly in the address forms, so obviously they are taking notice of UK feedback.

Not used their shopping system, but have setup the mailing-list app for a few clients and was suitably impressed, had to contact support over 1 issue - had the a corrected file issued same day.

Thanks, I've received lots of positive feedback about Interspire and the fact you're doing your 5th client site is definitely a good sign.
Thanks for passing on the feedback, much appreciated.

That's great to hear, someone else mentioned their support can have a bit of a lag with them being in Australia, but nice to hear you didn't have any issues.
Thanks

TSorry, it's VPASP (www.vpasp.com (http://www.vpasp.com)). It's an asp based package.

I've been using the cart for just over a year, started during the Beta. Really easy to use. Quick support + they listen to what we want (we were the people who harrassed them about the UK postal towns/counties). It's not the finished product yet and they're going to keep pushing it on.
We get along with it better than our old cart, and Google is happier with it as well (of course, you'll need some SEO knowledge). We're also converting quite a few more sales.
The bonus is that if you have advanced php or html knowledge, you can further customise the thing.
