Hello.

I wondered if anyone could help me at all.

I wanted to see if there is an off the shelf type package/software or anything i could use with not much customisation.

What is needed?

> Something for our Teachers to login and put a listing for an event.
> It gets verified by me before postin on.
> Can divide into different locations.. Edinburgh / Glasgow etc
> Are arranged in Order of Event.
> Can sort by Event type / Style (Drums / Guitar)

Here is a rough Example - It would be a full page of this sort of thing.. with options down one side..

http://www.punktastic.com/gigs/

and when you view the area you want its shown like

http://www.punktastic.com/gigs/regions/5 (with different boxes / details)

and you can click in to see more details further about it.

Anyone know of anything or recommend something??? :)

I'm sure I saw a Joomla Plugin for something like this before.... would need some serious hunting to find it again though.

If not for a site, then MS Access would be easily customised to suit.

Do you run a server if so then you could install sharepoint and it will allow you to post to it, and also you can verify the content before getting posted.

When you come across a site with the functionality you want, try right-clicking and 'view page source' (with Firefox - don't know with IE).

You can then scan the source code looking for script/plugin names as well as the platform (Joomla/Wordpress etc)

You can then research your findings on Google.

Wordpress would possibly hold the answer to your problems...
