Hi

just wondered if anyone knows how to go about registering an idea. I came up with a brand new idea last week and I know that it will work but I want to some how protect it from being copied.

it is a new product that I have not fully designed yet. I wish to register it some how so that I can safely ask for help to get it developed.

Any one have any ideas... it is hard to know who to trust with this sort of thing.

Hi,
I think the patenting office deals with that type of thing. But from what I have heard you need to pay for it to patented.

Then you can register your company (either as a Ltd or sole trader etc).

I think that should prevent you from being copied.
All the best

Hi

I have looked at the patent website and it doesn't seem to clear as to fee's or how to go about registering an idea.

I don't mind paying for this idea to be registered as long as it is secure from being copied.

There is a member on here called Crossguard who deal with this sort of thing. Failing that give Ian Wilkes from GW&W a call on 01462 714305 who should be able to help you.
Say I sent you :)

I'd be glad to help - there's no charge for an initial discussion.
