Hi all is there anyone in the UK still in the engineering game when I registered I noticed that there was no category even for engineering as I live in Italy as a self employed mechanical engineer in the bottling sector it's very much alive and well here although the taxes are higher 50%!

Hello, welcome to UKBF. You're right that there isn't a forum for engineering in particular but these kinds of questions can generally be asked in the General Business Forum anyway.
There certainly are plenty of engineers in the UK, although I'm not sure about the bottling sector as I don't have much experience in this area.
Perhaps it's worth starting a new thread in the General forum to see if any of your industry colleagues reply?

Hi Gina
Thanks for your eply I would starta new thread but being new to the forum I'm not sure how to I've been looking for a menu without finding one.
I'm looking for uk companies with new products or those wishing to import as with the recent change in exchange rates between the pound and euro has made thing more favorable for U.K. companies although they remain rater high.
Can you give me a clue.
Regards
Kevin

Dunns & Curries http://www.dunnsfoodanddrinks.co.uk/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=38&Itemid=66
I am sure that they still have a bottling plant because they still do the glass bottles with the returnable deposit.

Its funny you should mention about glass bottles as till recently there was a constant move over to P.E.T bottles which in theory are infinatly recyclable. However recent report especially from america show that upto 75% of them end up in landfill dumps as the cost of collecting and recycling them is of little commercial value.
The move now is to return to using glass bottles as it removes the PET bottle from circulation and requires less dependancy on oil based materials.
It's funny how these thing end up going in circles.

Glass is the thing which people always think to recycle first. Dunns is a very old company, there are still arguments in Scotland over whether Dunns lemonade is better than Curries, and it comes down to the fact that the Dunns is still sold in the glass 75cl bottles.
